St. Michael’s Mission friends Jim and Linda Sanders attended the commissioning ceremony of the USS Montgomery in Mobile, Alabama last month. In addition to watching the historic occasion from dockside, they were able to enjoy fellowship with other residents of the city of Montgomery. Approximately 1,500 people made it to the commissioning ceremony and enjoyed speeches, the band playing, a 21-gun salute, and local favorite Chris’s hotdogs for the celebration.
As part of its mission, St. Michael’s Mission extends the invitation to any member of the crew of the USS Montgomery or their families to reach out to us to assist with any of the areas in which we provide services to veterans and their families (housing, finance, hunger) or we can help locate an organization that can provide the services if we don’t.
